CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES AT THEIR
BEST
 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. rolled oats
2 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix butter, shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until very light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, vanilla, lemon juice. Stir flour, baking soda, salt and oats together. Add to butter mixture. Mix thoroughly. Stir in chips.

Drop scant 1/4 cup dough for each cookie onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 17-19 minutes for soft cookie, 350 degrees for 16-18 minutes for crisp cookie.
