2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, shortening, sugars and vanilla. Add egg and beat well. Combine flour, soda and salt; gradually add to the sugar-butter mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 375 degrees 8-10 minutes. Makes 3-4 dozen.
