CLASSIC QUICHE FILLING | |
4-8 slices bacon (opt.), cooked & crumbled 2-3 tbsp. chopped onion 1/2 - 1 c. steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, carrots) 1 c. grated cheese (Swiss, cheddar) 4 eggs 1 c. milk or cream Dash salt & pepper Dash ground nutmeg or cinnamon 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese 9" - 10" pie crust shell (see quiche crusts) 1/2 - 1 c. cooked ham or chicken, chopped (opt.) Sprinkle bacon, onion, vegetables and cheese into pie shell. Combine eggs and milk until well blended. Add seasonings. Pour egg mixture over ingredients in pie shell. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before serving. |
