These bars were made every Christmas at Grandma's. She knows they are Breda's favorite and Breda knows she can find them at Grandma's anytime, not just at Christmas.

I made these for the first time...and I was quite disappointed. I poured the chocolate topping on the bars and it completely combined with the cherry bottom. The cherry part of the bars definitely needs to chill before you put the topping on.

Family favorite-- but since I don't like cherry I use mint chips instead (Andes mints pieces or crushed) It is just as good!

My aunt made these every Christmas and she passed 3 years ago Christmas hasn't been the same since without my aunt and her Bing bars. Now that I have the recipe maybe it will be a little bit better from now on. But never the same without my aunt. Thank you so much!!
