CHRUSCIKI (POLISH PRETZELS) 
6 egg yolks
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. dairy sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon rind
1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
confectioners' sugar (for sprinkling)

Beat egg yolks hard; add salt, sour cream, vanilla and lemon rind. Add flour a little at a time. Roll out dough on floured board very thin. Cut 2 1/2 inch strips then cut to make diamond shapes. Slit the middle and twist through slit.

Fry in hot Crisco shortening. Drain on paper towels. When cooled, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
