3/4 c. shortening and butter mixed
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. sour milk
1 tsp. lemon extract

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, cream thoroughly. Blend in 3 beaten eggs, after flour is sifted. Add baking powder, soda, salt, cocoa, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, alternating with sour milk. Add extract. Bake 350 degrees.

ICING:

6 tbsp. butter
3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 tbsp. hot coffee or more

Cream butter, add egg yolk. Sift sugar, cocoa, cinnamon together. Add coffee to cream mixture and then mix with dry ingredients working creamed mixture until smooth. Cover top of cake with nuts.
