MONTGOMERY PIE 
CAKE TOP:

2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk
3/4 c. shortening or butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder

WET BOTTOM:

1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses (Turkey Table syrup or LIGHT Karo)
1 lemon, grate rind and squeeze juice
1 pt. cold water
2 eggs, beaten a bit
2 tbsp. flour

Crust for 4 pies

Mix (cold) and pour into shells. Top with cake batter. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes and then 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
