CHERRIES A LA CREME 
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand recommended)
1 (No. 2) can sour pitted cherries, drained
1/2 carton whipped cream
2 lemon juice
1 c. chopped walnuts
24 (or so) vanilla wafers, crushed and mixed with 2 tablespoons melted butter

Mix condensed milk with lemon juice and add drained cherries and walnuts. Fold in whipped cream.

Spread 3/4 of crushed and buttered wafers in square baking dish and pour mixture over it. Cover with rest of wafers and chill 2 hours before serving.
