PEARS A LA CREME 
1 (29 oz.) can pear halves
2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 pt. vanilla ice cream

About 20 minutes before serving, drain pear halves. In medium skillet over low heat, melt butter; stir in next 4 ingredients. Add pear halves and simmer 10 minutes, turning pears once. Spoon ice cream into dessert dishes; top each with hot pear and some sauce. Serves 8 to 10.
