OATMEAL CAKE AND TOPPING 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. Wesson oil
1 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar

CAKE: Pour boiling water over oats and let stand. Combine oil, flour, eggs, cinnamon, baking soda, brown sugar, white sugar, mixing well. Add oatmeal mixture. Mix well. Pour into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

FROSTING:

While cake is baking, mix 1/2 stick butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup nuts, and 1 cup coconut. Bring to boil until it becomes thick. Leave on low heat, stirring often. When cake is done, pour frosting over evenly.
