CRANBERRY BREAD 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. fresh cranberries
1/2 c. broken nutmeats
Juice and grated rind of 1 orange
1 beaten egg
2 tbsp. melted shortening

Sift dry ingredients together in large bowl. Put juice and grated rind in measuring cup; add enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup and add to dry mixture. Add egg and melted shortening; mix just enough to moisten flour mixture. Add cranberries and nuts. Bake in greased loaf pan at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Store at least 24 hours before slicing.
