NEVER FAIL POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tbsp. lemon flavoring
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
1/2 c. self-rising flour
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream Crisco and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat until creamy. Add flavorings; beat well. Add flour alternately with milk and beat well. Batter will be thick. Pour into greased and floured 9 inch tube pan and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Lower heat to 325 degrees and bake about an hour. This pound cake will have a thick crust.
