ISAAC PHILLIPS DELICIOUS CORN
BREAD
 
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup milk
1/4 cup self rising flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
3 1/2 tbsp. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. garlic powder
dash of paprika
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 tbsp. sugar
dash of salt and pepper
a cast iron skillet greased with a handful of Crisco

Preheat oven to 450*.

Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and cornmeal until it becomes a light brown color.

Mix in egg, milk, and Crisco until the Crisco is thinned out.

Stir garlic powder, paprika, and Cheddar cheese into the mixture.

Cook for 25-30 minutes or until top is brown. When finished. flip the cornbread over onto a big plate or platter and then it's ready to eat.
