CALICO BEAN CASSEROLE 
1/2 lb. lean bacon
3 c. thinly sliced onion
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. ketchup
1 lb. can butter beans (or butter beans with ham)
1 lb. can kidney beans, drained
1 lb. can pork and beans
1 lb. can green baby limas, drained

Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces and fry. Drain off fat, leaving 3 tablespoons in skillet, removing bacon. Stir in onion, brown sugar, garlic salt, dry mustard, ketchup and vinegar. Simmer 20 minutes. Stir in all the beans and HALF of bacon. Place in 3-quart shallow casserole. Sprinkle with remaining bacon. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer.

I prefer the butter beans without ham.
