BEEF GOULASH 
1/3 c. onion, chopped
1/2 c. celery, chopped
4 tbsp. fat
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 can water
1 lg. bay leaf
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni (uncooked)
Parmesan cheese (optional)

Cook onions and celery in hot fat until golden. Add meat; brown lightly; drain fat. Add tomato sauce, water and seasonings. Simmer 30 to 40 minutes. Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water; drain. Add to meat sauce; simmer 10 minutes. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
