RAW APPLE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. chopped raw apples, cored but not peeled
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In large mixing bowl, cream shortening, 1 cup sugar and eggs. Blend in flour mixture. Add apples, milk, vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan.

Mix together 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 60 minutes.

Note: This bread is actually better the second day. It is much easier to slice.
