1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. garlic powder
1 lg. onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1-2 canned Jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
1 sm. can Carnation milk
1/4 c. water, IF NEEDED

Mix all above ingredients together (except water). A stiff dough is needed. to check, spoon should stand alone in center of mixture. Add water only if needed. Will need if using stone ground meal. Drop by teaspoon, in very hot, deep oil. Better if fried after frying fish in same oil.
