MUSHROOM RICE 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 pkg. Lipton dry onion soup
1 can consomme of beef broth
1 c. uncooked rice
2 (4 oz. ea.) cans mushrooms, undrained
1 1/2 cans water

Melt butter. Pour in dry onion soup mix and blend. Cook slowly 3 to 4 minutes. Add rice and stir constantly for another 3 or 4 minutes. Add mushrooms, juice, water and consomme; stir well. Cover tightly. Simmer for 1 hour or until rice is done. DO NOT LIFT COVER.
