LITTLE ITALIAN ICED COOKIES 
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
4 tbsp. sugar
3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder

FROSTING:

1 egg white
3/4 c. confectionery sugar

Cream together shortening and sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add alternately with milk. Add more flour if necessary for a firm dough. Make balls the size of walnuts. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Watch carefully. Cookies should not brown.

ICING: Beat egg white with fork and stir in confectioners' sugar. When smooth, spread over cookies. You can use food coloring for desired colors if you want. Or sprinkle decorations on top.
