ITALIAN CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cloves
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 c. cocoa
1 c. shortening
1 pt. warm milk
4 jiggers whiskey

Mix in and work thoroughly in order given. Shape in rounded balls. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. I put 4 jiggers of whiskey and bake at 375 degrees for less than 15 minutes.
