1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
2 1/2 c. diced apples
2 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, then dry ingredients. Add apples, nuts, water and vanilla. Put in well greased pie plate and bake 45 minutes in 400 degree oven. Check at 30 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
