1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1/2 stick butter
1 can apple pie filling (or fruit of your choice)

Pour pie filling in a 9 x 13 inch dish. (I prefer glass dish; my best cakes were made in a glass dish.) Pour cake mix on top of pie filling. Slice up small pieces of butter on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
