WELSH COOKIES 
5 c. flour
1 c. (heaping) sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. mace (optional)
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 lb. lard
1 c. currants
3 eggs lightly beaten and add enough milk to fill cup

Sift dry ingredients together. Work in butter and lard as for pie crust. Add 1 cup currants. Add liquid to flour mixture. If sticky add enough flour to handle. Roll and cut with cookie cutter. Bake on griddle at 350 degrees.
