MAMA'S TEA CAKES | |
3 c. sifted flour 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 3 tbsp. Pet milk or cream Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut butter into dry ingredients. Mix vanilla, eggs, and milk together and add to the dry ingredients, mixing well by hand. It is a very stiff batter. Chill for at least an hour. Roll to pie crust thickness and cut as desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yields: 6 to 7 dozen. |
