“YEAST FREE PIZZA CRUST & HOMEMADE PIZZA” IS IN:

YEAST FREE PIZZA CRUST &
HOMEMADE PIZZA

CRUST:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil

PIZZA:

Tomato sauce
Ground pork or hamburger, browned
Chopped onion
1/2 tbsp. pizza seasoning*
Mushrooms
Shredded pizza cheese

Mix flour, salt, baking powder and water. Knead on floured counter just until workable and spreadable, about 2 minutes. Put on pizza pan. With fingers, spread vegetable oil on crust (helps so tomato sauce won't soak into crust) then spread with tomato sauce and top with the meat of your choice. Sprinkle with pizza seasoning and top with mushrooms and cheese.

Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.

Note: Pizza seasoning can be purchased at the supermarket. It has all of the dried spices together and you just sprinkle it on.

Variation: Roll the dough out thinly and use to make stuffed "Hot Pockets", calzones or turnovers. Fill with your favorite filling (a pizza topping with cheese and chopped pepperoni is my favorite!).

This recipe worked great! I just think that it could have used less salt.

Very good recipe and very simple. Loved it! The only thing I added was some Italian Seasoning mix to the dry ingredients before I added the water. Also, I added the oil directly to the mix and it turned out absolutely perfect for me. I might try adding some grated parmesan cheese to the mix for a different flavor. Could probably incorporate a variety of ingredients to the mix to flavor the crust. Sun dried tomatoes?

well... we are 14 and we did this little recipe here and it took a while. We kept adding flour thinking it would be a little less sticky? wrong but we but it in the oven and it ended up a whole lot better than we though it was going to be! :)

Message to plopiun, these kids will be far healthier being vegetarians than you can ever hope to be! You should watch the movie "food Inc" and read some books: meats is very acidic in our bodies and is not easy for our bodies to break down not to mention all the growth hormones and antibiotics that are in the meat.

Great recipe, everyone loves it. And pricking the crust helps a lot. Message to Plopiun: My aunt is a vegan, and she hardly ever gets sick, her husband who eats meat a lot, gets sick more than she does. As long as they get protein shots and take vitamins they are just like everyone else.

Turned out great if a little thin and a slightly overcooked. We make a LOT of homemade pizza, generally using biscuits or pizza crust mix but having none on hand I had to make it from scratch. Making a single, personal sized pizza, I had to cut the ingredient measurements to 1/4. Substituted butter for oil as we generally mix garlic powder and Italian seasoning or parsley for flavor. 1/4 of the recipe spread thinner than expected and my stuffed crust was a little flat since all I have on hand is shredded cheese. I used a mixture of shredded red pepper you see in pizza places on the inside of my stuffed crust and some garlic and onion mixture in place of my usual garlic powder. Popped in my oven topped with hotdog and bacon and Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. 20 was likely a little long for a pizza roughly 5 to 6 inches round but tastewise it satisfied the midnight craving.

Wonderful recipe. Pizza turned out a lot better than I though it would. We also had to add a bit water to crust. And thanks for the pre-baking tip :)

Wow...great tasting...better than I imagined! Money is tight and I am always looking for different ways to use what I have. Always have lots of flour and assorted other things to throw on a pizza. Loved it!

I think I'm going to try this recipe! Hope it turns out as good as most ppl have said! And I know it is not the place for the whole meat discussion, but reading everyone's comments I have to say something... My dad owns a butcher shop. I agree that meat it not the healthiest, but when you eat home grown, hormone free, steroid free meat, it is not NEARLY as bad as that junk you buy at the store. You should just balance your diet. These days, everything is bad for you if you eat too much of it so what difference does it make.

Made two pizzas. First pizza...diced chicken, green & red peppers, scallions, sliced tomatoes & mushrooms. A sprinkle of blue cheese and sharp and then topped with mozz cheese. Second pizza....mix of ground beef and sausage, onion, green pepper, garlic and mushrooms. Used my own tomato sauce. Will use the crust recipe again. Easy and wonderful! Next time I will use seasoned olive oil topped with artichokes, tomato, onion and garlic. Then use three different cheeses on top. Yum.

Fantastic! Next time I will use half the salt....the crust was a bit salty. I added some garlic powder to the dough and it gave it an extra pop. The poking holes and pre-baking was a great idea, too. Love it!

LOVE!!! We used olive oil on my pizza stone and slowly spread the dough very thin and did bake it for 5 minutes prior to putting the Dei Fratelli Pizza Sauce and toppings on. I am allergic to yeast and dairy so I loved the crust and used a Goat's Milk cheddar (trader joes) along with a little garlic powder and italian seasoning on top of the cheese.

I also made stuffed breadsticks because it was sooo easy. Seriously - took me 10 minutes to make the pizza and 5 to make the breadsticks. I split the dough up into 8 parts. Spread them open and put pepperoni, cheese, toppings etc... and roll them up. I added a little garlic powder on the outside and put them on an olive oil coated pan (plus a little oil on the top of the dough.) I baked them for 15 minutes in my gas oven (plus the 5 minutes for the crust prior to toppings.)

Perfect! We are really picky and this was great. We also used whole wheat white flour instead of the enriched flour so the recipe was really filling and Healthy. :)
