3/4 c. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. applesauce
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Cream shortening and sugar together. Then add remaining ingredients, except raisins and nuts. Beat all together then add raisins and nuts.

Bake at 350°F for about 45 to 60 minutes.
