HASH BROWN HOT DISH 
8 oz. (4 c.) frozen shredded hash browns
1 lb. hamburger
1 med. onion, chopped
10 oz. frozen mixed vegetables
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 c. milk
6 to 8 slices American cheese
1 can french fried onions
Salt and pepper to taste

Butter 9 x 13 pan. Cover bottom with hash browns. Brown hamburger and onions. Drain. Put on top of hash browns. Season. Spread vegetables on top. Mix soup and milk and pour over hot dish. Bake, covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Uncover. Put sliced cheese (or shredded cheese) on top and cover with french fried onions. Let set in oven about 15 minutes until cheese melts.
