GUMDROP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped gumdrops
1 c. rolled oats
1 c. cornflakes
1/2 c. grated coconut or nuts, optional

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and stir well. Add flour, salt, soda, baking powder and stir thoroughly. Add other ingredients and blend. Form into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
