BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. mashed bananas, ripe
1 3/4 c. rolled oats, uncooked
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine first six ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add remainder of ingredients. Beat until well blended. Drop by teaspoons about 1 1/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees, about 10 to 15 minutes, or until edges are browned. Remove from sheets at once and cool on rack.
