SICILIAN SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS | |
Fix spaghetti noodles as directed on the package (1 pound). SICILIAN SAUCE: 1 garlic clove, minced 2 tbsp. olive oil 2 cans (15 oz.) tomato sauce 2 tsp. dried basil 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 med. onion, chopped 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste with 4 cans water added 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper, optional Cook garlic and onion slowly in oil for a few minutes. Add the tomato paste, water and tomato sauce. Mix together and add seasonings. Simmer while making meatballs. SICILIAN MEATBALLS: 1 lb. ground beef 2 tbsp. chopped parsley 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs 2 eggs 1 tsp. salt |
