SNICKERDOODLES (COOKIES) 
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cinnamon Sugar:

1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs together thoroughly. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; stir into moist ingredients. Roll dough into marble-sized balls. Roll each ball into mixture of cinnamon sugar.

Place 2-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes 5 dozen.
