BUTTERMILK POUNDCAKE 
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. buttermilk
Confectioners' sugar

Sift the flour, soda, baking powder and salt together twice. Cream the butter with sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition, then blend in flavorings. Add the flour mixture alternating with buttermilk, beating until smooth after each addition.

Pour into a greased and floured and brown paper-lined 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan and cool. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
