BREAD PUDDING WITH LEMON SAUCE 
6 slices buttered bread
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. scalded milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla

LEMON SAUCE:

1/4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
Dash of salt
3/4 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Butter bread and cut into cubes. Add sugar to eggs. Scald milk. Combine all ingredients together and pour into buttered baking dish. Place in pan of boiling water. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.

LEMON SAUCE: Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt, 1/4 cup water; add boiling water. Cook 1 minute or until thick and translucent. Remove from heat and add butter and lemon juice. Serve hot or cold. With or without Cool Whip.
