For corn pudding they say to place dish in water and bake at 350°F. What do you mean by that? Do you set the pan in water and then take it out and bake or do you actually have to find something larger to hold the water, sit the dish or pan in the hot water and then place both pans in the oven?

Hi Deborah,

It means that you should find a large pan that you can fill with water enough so that the dish that you're baking the pudding in sits in the water about half way up the dish.

It's important that no water gets into the baking dish. This is called a water bath, or the French call it a "bain-marie", and the method is often used in baking custards and puddings.
