ALMOND BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 egg
1 (8 oz.) can almond paste
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, sugar and almond extract until light and fluffy. Add egg and paste. Beat thoroughly. Combine dry ingredients and sift together. Add sifted dry ingredients slowly, beat until blended. Chill 2 hours. Form into small balls (use 1 level teaspoon per ball). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press each ball gently with small glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes until delicately browned.
