STEAK AND ONION PIE 
1 med. onion
1/4 c. butter
1 lb. round steak
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp. ginger
Pinch of allspice
1/2 dozen or more small new potatoes or 3 med. potatoes, cubed
2 c. hot water or water to cover meat and potatoes completely
Favorite crust

First, cut up onion and cook in butter until they're yellow but not browned. now take the onions out of the pan and put in round steak which has been cut in 1/2 inch cubes and floured. (Cuts much easier if partially frozen.)

Season the meat with salt, pepper, ginger, and a generous pinch of allspice and then brown it (add additional butter, if needed). Take the steak out of the pan and put in potatoes. Brown them.

Now put all the ingredients in a low buttered casserole and add hot water (cover meat and potatoes completely). Cover it with your favorite crust, sealing the edges but cutting a stem hole in the center. Bake at 450 degrees for 3 minutes.
