MAPLE APRICOT - DATE BREAD 
1/2 cup dried apricots
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pitted dates
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 egg, beaten
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
Nuts for garnish

Combine apricots with boiling water to cover, in a small bowl. Let stand 15 minutes. Drain well; cut into small pieces. Mix apricots, chopped nuts, and dates in small bowl. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in large bowl. Add sugar and apricot mixture. Mix well.

Mix milk, maple syrup, and egg in small bowl. Add to flour mixture; mix well. Pour into well greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan; let stand 20 minutes before baking.

Bake in preheated oven until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan on wire rack 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely on rack.

Frost with cream cheese; garnish with nuts.
