GOOEY CHERRY CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
1 egg
1 stick butter, melted
1 (16-20 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
2 eggs
3/4 box powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom of 9 x 13 glass dish.

In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, egg, and melted butter. Batter will be very stiff. It is easier to finish mixing using one's hands. Pat this mixture into the prepared pan.

Spread the cherry filling over the cake mixture.

In a medium bowl mix the cream cheese, eggs, and powdered sugar. Small lumps of cheese may remain, but they will melt while baking. Pour on top of the pie filling.

Loosely cover the pan with foil. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove the foil. Bake another 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.

NOTE: This cherry dessert takes approximately 3 hours to cool before cutting. It is especially good served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
