1/2 lb. Mostaccioli Rigati noodles 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onion 32 oz. jar spaghetti sauce 4 oz. can mushroom stems and pieces (optional) 1 tsp. basil (optional) 1 tsp. salt 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded cheddar or mozzarella Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook Mostaccioli noodles according to package directions. Drain. Meanwhile in large skillet brown meat. Pour off fat. Add onion, cook and stir until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except noodles and cheese. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in cooked noodles. Bake in shallow 2 quart baking dish (12 x 7 inches) or glass oblong cake pan. Bake 20 minutes then top with cheese and bake 3 minutes longer. |
