AUNT IRENE'S NOODLES | |
2 lb. (1/16-inch) egg noodles 2 (16 oz.) containers real sour cream 2 sticks real butter 4 tbsp. poppy seeds The thinner the egg noodles the better. Cook the noodles according to directions being sure to add enough salt to the water. Do not overcook these noodles; be sure they are "dente". Place in a large casserole dish. Add the two sticks of butter. Add the sour cream and the poppy seeds. Season again with salt and a lot of pepper. This is the kind of dish that goes with anything and is great for potlucks. A five pound bag of noodles and two 3 pound tubs of sour cream make enough to fill a roaster for reunions. |
