NEW YORK STYLE HOT DOGS | |
1 package of great hot dogs (Nathan's or Hebrew nationals) several good beers (I use Newcastle brown ale) 1 chopped onion 2 smashed cloves of garlic For serving: sesame topped hoagie buns chopped onion German mustard good sauerkraut whatever else you like Boil the dogs (or brats) in the beer, garlic and onions for twenty minutes. Split dogs almost in half leaving part to hold dogs together. Split open and place on grill, split side down. Cook till dark brown. Flip and cook till crispy. Place kraut, onions and onions on buns. Then hot dogs. More kraut, onions and mustard. Beats Chicago dogs every time! Submitted by: Sam Campbell |
