BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES | |
1 c. light brown sugar 1/4 c. butter or vegetable oil 1 egg 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. If using butter melt over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in sugar until well blended; cool. If using oil just mix sugar and oil. Stir in egg. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Gradually blend in, mix thoroughly. Mix in vanilla and walnuts. Bake in 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Do not over bake. Cut into bars while warm. |
