SIMPLE APPLE STRUDEL 
DOUGH:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/4 c. water
1 egg yolk

FILLING:

4 vanilla wafers, crushed
3 med. apples, pared & sliced
2 tbsp. raisins
2 tbsp. nuts (opt.)
4 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter

DOUGH: Cut butter into flour until mixture is crumbly. Measure water and add egg yolk, add to flour; mix with fork. Knead until dough is smooth. Divide into two parts. Wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate overnight.

FILLING: Combine all ingredients except wafers. Roll dough into rectangle, 12"x6". Crumble 2 wafers over rolled dough. Sprinkle half filling on dough. Roll to form jelly roll. Repeat with other half dough and filling. Bake 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. sprinkle with powdered sugar. Place on jelly roll pans, ungreased.
