RED DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cocoa and add to shortening mixture. Add boiling water and stir well. Bake in 3 (8") layer pans at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or in a 9"x13" pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
