RED DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda (mix with buttermilk)
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. flour
Vanilla
Salt

Bake 30 minutes at 325 degrees in 9 x 13 pan.

FROSTING:

1 c. milk - thickened with 3 tbsp. flour

Cook until thick. Cool.

Cream:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco

Add:

1 1/2 c. sugar (may be powdered)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream until fluffy and add to cooled mixture. May top with coconut.
