HAMBURGER BUNS | |
2 pkg. active dry yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 1/4 c. milk 1/3 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 5 c. all-purpose flour Dissolve and soak yeast in water. Scald the milk. Cool to lukewarm. Cream butter, sugar and salt until light. Add cooled milk, eggs and 4 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add yeast and water. Mix thoroughly. Turn out onto 1 cup flour. Knead until light and elastic. Place in greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled. Punch down. Shape into hamburger buns. Put in pan and let rise until double. Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes. |
