UNSTUFFED CABBAGE AND BEEF 
3 c. shredded cabbage
1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1 c. uncooked reg. rice
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2/3 c. hot water
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 can tomato soup
1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar

Place cabbage in large baking dish. Then sprinkle rice over cabbage. In skillet brown meat and drain grease. Then add remaining ingredients. heat to boiling and pour over cabbage and rice. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until rice is tender. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.

This was excellent. I prepared it with chopped cabbage instead of shredded to save some time. Even the non cabbage eater in my family had seconds. High altitude, cook 40 minutes.
