HONEY RAISIN BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. plain flour 1 c. whole what flour 1/4 c. oat bran 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 2 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. honey 3/4 c. milk 1/4 c. buttermilk 1 c. raisins 1 c. chopped nuts Sift plain flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Add wheat flour and bran. Set aside. Beat egg, shortening and honey in large bowl. Stir in flour mixture alternately with milk and buttermilk just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in raisins and nuts. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 325 degrees in one 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan. |
