PECAN PIE BARS 
COOKIE CRUST:

2 1/2 c. flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

In a large bowl place butter, that has been cut into pieces, with other ingredients and mix with mixer at medium speed until it resembles fine crumbs. Press into a 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 20 minutes or golden brown.

FILLING:

4 eggs
1 1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. pecans halves or chopped pecans

Mix eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Immediately pour over hot crust and spread evenly. Return to oven and bake 25 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely. Cut into 2 x 1 1/2 inch bars. Yield: about 48 bars.
