DATE NUT ROLL 
1/2 c. sweet condensed milk
2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs (1/2 lb.)
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Confectioners sugar
Whipped cream
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 c. finely chopped dates (or cooked apricots, peaches, prunes, or combination)

Blend condensed milk and lemon juice; add crumbs and mix well. Mix dates and nuts. Sprinkle waxed paper with thin layer of confectioners sugar; lightly roll or flatten crumb mixture on sugar to 8 x 10 inches. Spread with fruit mixture. Roll as jelly roll; wrap in waxed paper. Chill 6-8 hours. Slice and serve with whipped cream or hard sauce. Makes 8 servings.
